RimRebellion was a new brand. At GoBigname, we helped them to start from naming, to visual identity.

Project Overview
A Different Kind of Cycling Apparel Store

Rim Rebellion is an online store that specializes in cycling apparel. It offers a wide range of stylish and high-performance clothing and accessories for both men and women, focusing on items like jerseys, sunglasses, jackets, gloves, and more. But it doesn't end there. Rim Rebellion aims to be a cycling club, hosting events and gatherings for the enthusiasts.

At GoBigname, we created a narrative that is rooted in the cycling tradition, the exploration of the environment. The shape of the badge is inspired by the wayfinding poles found on gravel roads. The emphasis of the wordmark is on the word RIM because it can work as identificator, visible from the distance. Paired together with a bespoke script lettering, it adds a sense of tradition. We also advised on the eCommerce implementation of the brand identity, making sure it translates well into the digital experience.

Physical space
Apparel store where you can get a cup of beautiful espresso

Some time after launching the brand, Rim Rebellion opened their physical location in a renowed building complex Zwirn, located in the city centre. It's a connection of an apparel store where you can sit down with the founders and let them talk you through decisions, to a small coffee shop.

They also organise events on regular basis and the meeting spot is the Rim Rebellion store.

Project Craft
How did we do it

Logo & Animation

The "spaghetti" lettering was drawn using Glyphs 3. We drew both the word RIM and Rebellion separately where the word RIM was rendered in multiple weights to make sure we find the visual balance between the two words.

Typography

To build on top of the cycling tradition, we went for Greed Condensed for headlines from Displaay, and one of my all time favorites Italian Plate No. 4 Expanded from Playtype, both in regular and italics to reflect on the tradition of the sport.
